The death of legendary singer Asha Bhosle on April 12 left the Indian music industry shocked and deeply sad. She had a career that spanned over eight decades and was one of the most loved voices in Indian cinema, inspiring many generations.

After her passing, singers, filmmakers, and institutions from India and abroad came forward to honour her in many ways. Concerts, announcements, and events were all changed to pay respect to her great contribution to music.

Many ongoing concerts and film promotions were also turned into emotional tributes in her memory, showing how deeply she influenced the music world.

Tributes in concerts everywhere

Singer Shreya Ghoshal, performing at The O2 in London on April 12, paid tribute to Asha Bhosle during her live show. Images of the late singer were shown in the background as she performed classics like “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar” and “Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani.”

In Mumbai, Karan Aujla first observed a moment of silence to honour Asha Bhosle. After that, he played a mix of her famous songs like “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja”, “Dum Maro Dum”, “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil”, “Yeh Mera Dil”, and “O Haseena Zulfonwale.”

Tribute by a classical musician in Kolkata

Sitar player Rishab Rikhiram Sharma also paid tribute to Asha Bhosle during his show at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata. He played a beautiful sitar version of “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar,” which touched everyone and became very popular online.

Film industry stops releasing content for some time

The film industry also paid tribute by delaying promotional releases. The makers of “Chand Mera Dil” and “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” moved their planned releases from April 13 to April 14. They said the decision was taken to show respect for Asha Bhosle’s contribution to the industry and released the content one day later.Both film teams shared a statement on social media saying they delayed their releases to show respect for Asha Bhosle’s contribution to the industry.

The title song of the Ananya Panday and Lakshya film, and the first look of the romcom starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, were later released on Tuesday.

Hospital named in her honour

A hospital project in Nandoshi, Pune has been renamed as the Lata-Asha Mangeshkar Institute of Medical Sciences as a tribute. The decision was taken by the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation. The decision was made by the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation, which earlier planned to name it only after Lata Mangeshkar.

Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar chairman and trustee of Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation, and Asha Bhosle’s elder brother said, “Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosale remain among the most iconic and revered figures in Indian music. Establishing a premier healthcare institution in their joint name is envisioned as a befitting tribute to their unparalleled legacy.”

About Asha Bhosle’s demise

Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 after facing health problems. She was taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai because of heart and breathing issues.

After her death, many celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Kajol shared emotional messages on social media to pay tribute to her.

The many tributes show how special Asha Bhosle is in Indian music history. From concerts around the world to film releases and institutions, everyone is honouring her.
