The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit has dismissed as fake a media claim suggesting that the Ministry of Finance is printing question papers for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, clarifying that the examination is conducted exclusively by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Education.

PIB posted addressing students
In a post shared on X on June 6, 2026, the PIB Fact Check unit addressed reports circulating in sections of the media that alleged the NEET UG re-examination question papers could be printed at the secured printing press of the Ministry of Finance.
“Several sections of the media are claiming that the NEET UG re-examination question paper may be printed in the secured printing press of the Ministry of Finance,” the PIB Fact Check unit said.
The agency categorically rejected the claim, stating, “This claim is fake.” It further clarified that the Ministry of Finance is not involved in printing the question papers for the NEET UG re-examination.
The clarification comes as the National Testing Agency prepares to conduct the NEET Undergraduate 2026 re-examination on June 21, 2026. Earlier, during a press conference held on May 15, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that admit cards for the examination would be issued by June 14, 2026.

Official information about the re-exam
According to official information, the examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. To ensure the secure transportation of question papers, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will assist in their movement for the re-examination, Pradhan had stated previously.
The PIB Fact Check unit has urged candidates and stakeholders to rely only on official sources for accurate and verified information related to the examination process and other updates.
NEET UG 2026 was originally conducted on May 3 across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The examination was held at more than 5,432 centres and saw participation from approximately 22.79 lakh registered candidates, making it one of the largest entrance examinations in the country.
With preparations underway for the June 21 re-examination, authorities have reiterated the importance of verifying information through official channels and avoiding unverified claims circulating on social media and other platforms.
