Lowa-based heavy metal band Slipknot’s lineup has reportedly seen a major change as Sid Wilson is “officially out” as the DJ and Keyboardist of the band, as per a TMZ report. Guitarist Jim Root also shared a cryptic message after the news broke out.

The incident and Jim’s reply

Neither Slipknot nor Wilson had issued any official statement regarding the departure. The TMZ report, by citing a source close to the band with direct knowledge, stated that the reason behind the alleged departure remains unclear.

However, unnamed insiders told the magazine that the split was amicable and that there was still hope for reconciliation. Shortly after, guitarist Jim Root shared a brief note on Instagram, saying, “Don’t believe everything you read. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for a while. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”

The statement did not address the departure, nor did it refute the TMZ report. At the time of writing, Sid Wilson’s Instagram account still had “@slipknot gang since 1997”.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998 and became one of its nine original members when the band rose to fame with its debut album in 1999. However, Slipknot has also experienced several high-profile departures, including Bassist Paul gray’s death in 2010, drummer Joey Jordison’s death in 2021 and the exits of former percussionist Chris Fehn and keyboardist Craig Jones.
